At Laurie’s Learn to Skate our Synthetic Ice surface is the best surface on which to start your beginner skater ages 3 & up. It takes away the need for any skate aids, or parental assistance. The child feels confident as they can do it by themselves and in doing so, find it fun and relaxing and at the same time they are learning all the skills needed to move to the real ice surface.
Children will need a hockey helmet with a cage and skates need to be sharpened. Gloves or mitts are needed as well and children do not need to be bundled up as it's a warm room. Snow pants are great for padding.
This is a 30 minute class, 20 minutes of instruction and 10 minutes supervised playtime at the end of the class. We have a max of 6 children per class with 2 instructors.
